From HoMM to UE5 – A Mapmaker’s Journey

About Me

Hey there! I’m a lifelong fan of any game that lets you build your own world—if there’s a level editor, I’m in. My journey started way back with Heroes of Might and Magic III, where I made my first maps (and probably spent more time in the editor than actually playing the game).

Later, I discovered the magic of Neverwinter Nights, where I created detailed maps for Persistent World servers. That’s where I really fell in love with designing immersive spaces for players to explore.

When I got back into Dungeons & Dragons and started playing online, I couldn’t resist jumping into mapmaking again. I wanted my players to have the best experience possible—one filled with atmosphere, story, and stunning visuals.

Over time, I experimented with tons of tools (just check out some of my early maps on Patreon!), but eventually I found my true home in Unreal Engine 5. Now, I craft high-quality RPG maps and love sharing them with the community.

Still waiting for the day when I can cast Create Map as a cantrip—but until then, UE5 will do just fine. 🎲✨
